In the high valleys of Wallis, people call the snow “Or Blanc” — meaning white gold in French. This poetic metaphor gives its name to this exceptional sparkling wine from a renowned winery located in the Swiss Alps. The name gathers images of delicateness and nobility, while embodying the lightness and freshness associated with sparkling white wine.
Our aim was to create a distinctive identity that captures the spirit of this iconic terroir and expresses the unique qualities of the wine. The brand’s visual language reflects the purity of snow-capped peaks and the weightless joy of sparkling wine.
Wallis’s sunny and dry climate, with cool nights, creates perfect conditions for the Muscat grape, giving the wine a fresh and crisp taste. This region is also a natural habitat for animals, such as snakes and scorpions, that are rare to find in other parts of Switzerland. This unique character is reflected on the label design, reminding of the special place where this wine is born.
Born from the finest terroirs of Wallis and shaped by the care and passion of Swiss winemakers, Or Blanc is a tribute to local craftsmanship and quiet sophistication. With every bottle, Or Blanc offers a sensory journey that celebrates nature with timeless elegance.
Through the use of subtle embossing techniques, the design achieves a harmonious balance between the minimalist charm of white playing against the eye-catching contrast of the black logo lettering. The logo design resembles grape branches, symbolising the organic nature of the wine. To enhance its visual and tactile appeal, the logo is further elevated by an additional layer of varnish.
The Or Blanc identity received a Red Dot Design Award, recognising the strength of a design solution that enhances the wine’s character and brings its nature to the forefront through refined details and a carefully balanced aesthetic.
